 Hotel Description:

A fitness center with free weights and exercise machines and an on-site lighted tennis court is available. This hotel has 281 guestrooms. Room furnishings continue the French Art Deco theme, with clean lines, plush fabrics in rich colors, and comfortable seating areas. Wireless Internet access is available in the hotel's public areas and high-speed (wired) Internet access is available in all guestrooms. All rooms have fresh flowers, bathrobes, designer toiletries, and views of the lagoon. The French owners of The Sofitel Miami place a premium on high-quality food in the restaurant and attached French bakery, which stocks fresh pastries, cookies, and breads. International business travelers have been making the Sofitel their home base since 1986, largely because of the hotel's prime location in the Blue Lagoon business park and near the airport. A wall of windows facing the lagoon behind the hotel provides plenty of natural light to the multi-story lobby and lounge area. Just a five-minute drive from the almost-adjacent Miami International Airport, this modern hotel with a European feel overlooks Blue Lagoon. Guests can access the Internet in both public areas and guestrooms for a $10 daily fee. Uniformed porters usher guests into a bustling, art deco-inspired lobby with marble floors, brightly colored modern furniture and fresh tropical flowers. An electronic kiosk in the gift shop prints personal copies of almost any international newspaper in the world; the gift shop itself carries candles, soaps, and other merchandise. The Sofitel Miami caters to corporate travelers, offering lots of business services along with a French restaurant and bakery, pool and fitness center, and international newspaper kiosk. Downtown Miami is six miles east. The Doral Golf Course, home to the famous Blue Monster, is just 10 minutes away and open to the public; transportation may be arranged through the concierge.

More Great Cities
Denver - Denver has become one of the most popular tourist destinations in the country. The city's mountainous landscape compliments the prolific industry and entertainment communities of downtown. Denver's historic attractions make a wonderful contrast to its bustling nightlife, world-class shopping, and diverse dining. Year-round festivals, parades, and countless outdoor activities also add to the excitement.
Vienna - Vienna is the capital city of Austria, a small country of about eight million people. The city was originally established along the Danube River in the 5th century by the Roman Empire. But when barbarians took over the site around 488 A.D., all traces of civilization for the next few hundred years disappeared. Vienna is a city built upon its art, music and architecture. From the imposing Gothic Stephansdom (St. Stephan's Cathedral) in Vienna's old city center, to the world-class performances at the beautiful State Opera House, to a wealth of art displayed in the famous Kunsthistorische Museum, there is much experience here. Vienna is also known for its high-quality-of-life living. For example, Vienna's streets are unusually clean, crime is rare, and poverty is scarce.
Hawaii Maui - Known to many as the "Valley Isle", the island of Maui is steeped in history and beauty. Once known as "Great Maui", six different volcanoes formed the island. The island consisted of Maui, Molokai, Lanai and Kahoolawe, which was all once a single landmass. But rising sea levels have changed the landscape dramatically, and have since separated the islands. All are still a province of Maui, but are now considered Maui County. The highest point on the Island is the Haleakala volcano in Haleakala National Park, home to the Haleakala Crater; the largest dormant volcano in the world.
Albuquerque - Albuquerque offers a rich history to go along with its more than 300 days of sunshine. Visit Old Town, a collection of restaurants, boutiques, and art galleries built in the original town square established in 1706. Outdoor sports and recreation is also a major draw, inviting visitors to participate in activities such as golf, hiking, mountain biking and hot air ballooning. While in town, don’t forget to sample some of Albuquerque’s fiery southwestern cuisine.
Salt Lake City - Considered to be "The Crossroads of the American West," Salt Lake City offers a dynamic vacation experience, ranging from a unique Mormon heritage to world-class skiing at any of the nine major ski resorts located less than an hour from downtown Salt Lake.
Boston - Boston has a rich history that starts back in the days of the Pilgrims. Thus the city's role in American culture remains unmatched. Boston is home to Harvard University, Fenway Park, the Boston Marathon, the Freedom Trail, Boston Common Park and much more.
Tallahassee - Tallahassee is the capital city of Florida, occupying an area known as the Big Bend with the waters of the Gulf of Mexico about 25 miles south, and the Georgia state line about 14 miles north. From the city's rolling hills and lush plantations, freshwater springs and botanical gardens, as well as many fine museums and the excitement of Florida State University's campus grounds, Tallahassee has plenty to see and do.
New York City - New York City is still the business and entertainment capital of the world. Most of what makes New York so famous is cosmopolitan Manhattan Island. Thousands of people bustle along Manhattan Streets each day, exploring landmarks such as Times Square and Central Park, strolling down Broadway or Fifth Avenue, or enjoying the immense variety of theater, restaurants, nightlife and more. Hey, it's the city that never sleeps.
Miami - More than 10 million tourists a year flood Miami-Dade County to take advantage of the white-sand beaches, the sunny weather, the upscale shopping, the sizzling nightlife, and the outstanding “New World” cuisine that has taken on a style and taste of its own.
Las Vegas - Las Vegas is a combination of fast gaming action, glamour and glitz, sophistication and debauchery, all in the middle of the desert. Dance the night away, dine on world-class cuisine, catch some of the oldest, most reliable names in entertainment, or put your life savings in the hands of fate at any one of the magnificent casino-hotels.
Paris - Paris draws on two thousand years of history, giving this city an unrivaled cultural legacy. Paris is magnificent, ancient architecture, inspiring artistry, fashion, glamour, ethnic diversity, charming neighborhoods, refined cuisine, theater, and much more. Altogether Paris is a modern city, consistently responding to new challenges, creating new districts, new meeting places, and new ways of life.
London - London is an extravagant mix of history and modernity, science and the arts, business and leisure. From the tranquility of Hyde Park, to the haunting legacy of the Towers of London, to the priceless artifacts in the British Museum and much more, London has a countless array of things to see and do.
